Forever a Holy Priesthood

“I will give you shepherds after my own heart”Jeremiah 3:15

For generations, the priests of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles have walked with us — baptizing our children, celebrating our weddings, anointing our sick, and offering the Eucharist with faithful hearts. Today, 131 of these devoted shepherds have entered retirement, yet their vocation continues in quiet acts of prayer and service.

Some reside in modest homes or places like Nazareth House. Others remain active in parish life, still celebrating Mass and offering spiritual guidance.

As St. Paul reminds us, “Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor” (1 Timothy 5:17), These men have given their lives to God and to us.

Let us honor our beloved priests and safeguard their legacy for generations to come.

Honor your priest with a legacy gift today

One of the most meaningful ways to honor a beloved parish priest is by including the Priest Retirement Fund in your will or trust. Your legacy gift ensures that the priests who have devoted their lives to serving others can enjoy a secure and dignified retirement.

To learn how to make a planned gift, please contact us today. We would be privileged to recognize your priest on our Holy Memory Board in gratitude for your generous support.

Did You Know?

Body safety information for young children

Children should know the difference between “okay” and “not okay” or “good” and “bad” touches – touches that are welcome and comforting, and those that are intrusive, unwanted, painful, or uncomfortable. Children should know that they have the right to say “no” to being touched, even to adults, and that no children or adults should touch their private parts unless in very specific circumstances, and for a healthy purpose. This is where it can be helpful to discuss “safe adults,” like doctors, who check our bodies to help keep us healthy, and only in the presence of a parent or trusted adult. For more information on safety rules for very young children, read the VIRTUS® article “Sharing Developmental, Age-Appropriate Information with Children” at https://lacatholics.org/did-you-know/.
