The Father and I are One
Fourth Sunday of Easter
In the first reading we see two Apostle con- fronting obstacles. They are taking the word and the light of Christ to all the nations. With the power and strength of the Spirit, they suffer persecutions, insults and humiliations, but Paul and Barnabas accept difficulties for the love of Christ and his Church, plant- ing the seed of faith.
“My sheep head my voice, they know me and they follow me”. ~ John 10:27
We Christians are the fold that belongs to Him, and our identity comes not from our natural qualities, but due to our relation- ship to him as the Good Shepherd. Faith come by hearing the Word of God and the biggest danger we face is deafness we do not hear the voice of the Good Shepherd because our head is full of noise and other distractions or what is even worse “we make ourselves deaf” knowing that God is calling us and to not take the hint. Jesus knows that his is another voice but will not force us, he invites us to listen. His voice is dis- tinct, his messages different, his offer is generous, his power is great, his love is limitless, his pardon knows no limits, his voice reaches everyone yet He says that only “his sheep hear my voice”. To belong to Jesus is to hear his voice. To hear is to enrich the human relationships and the relationship with the divine. Jesus knows his sheep. Jesus loves gives an eternal life and go out to meet his sheep. No one knows you better, no one loves you like Jesus. Listen to him and let yourself be loved by him.
