Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
“I prefer a Rugged Church than a sick Church” brings up attention and much the style of Pope Francis, is found in the first posts of “Moral Authority” in this complex world. Cuba and its relations with the US has been one of the latest achievements of a Pope still not letting anyone know that the Church is to build, lift, encourage, and present the kindest face of Jesus. That is “serve to show your worth” works of the spirit and strength in Pope Francis when with today’s Gospel in hand, in contemplate that the works arrive and the words are gone with the wind. Jesus begins to maintain distance with the rabbinic tradition. He does not repeat like a parrot what he has taught, but also noticing that He does not live and is far from putting the word to their feet; it is He who is placed entirely at your service.
The prophecy of Jesus that announces and denounces, begins to take shape in the synagogue of Capernaum, what was believed was said, and was presented. Jesus speaks with authority! It’s not like a frozen faces or listless word with interesting or fake faces which pretend at all hours and would leave a ridge of acidity in the stomach! Now to direct this word, which was seen to produce hope, peace, forgiveness, love, and calm. Perhaps Jesus, if today appeared and did like in Capernaum many of us would exclaim: this has been a sermon of bells! It could be to us that the Pope may seem to mark a distance in everything that has been done and heard so far. But, basically, there is always the same objective: To present Christ with what is, as it is and for what it is: He brings us salvation let us not forget Him. Speak with authority, my Lord! Teach with Authority! Teach and Act! May God bless you today and always.
