Second Coming of Christ Quotes

3rd Sunday of Advent

“My soul rejoices in my God.”Ps. LK 1

This Advent season, aside from preparing ourselves to commemorate the birth of the Son of God, is also a time of preparation for his second coming, promised in many texts of his divine revelation, of which we present only a few below. We know well how to be prepared to receive him: with the white garment of baptism, that is to say, with the soul purified from sin, living in friendship and communion with Christ, as befits baptized saints.

For this, we are on the path of Christ, in his footsteps, learning from Jesus who teaches us day by day and guides us as a good shepherd, through the pastors and ministers of his Church, called to shepherd us in his name. Let us attend with faith as much as we can to Masses, novenas, posadas, groups, and other activities of our Church. BE READY, FOR YOU DO NOT KNOW THE DAY OR THE HOUR.

“May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”1 Thessalonians 5:23

“Therefore, brothers, be patient until the coming of the Lord.”James 5:7

“Now, brothers, about times and dates, we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

“…as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. ‘Men of Galilee,’ they said, ‘why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.'”Acts 1:9-11

“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”Philippians 4:5

“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.”Revelation 22:12

“Therefore, keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”Matthew 24:42

“..so that you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for the Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.”1 Corinthians 1:7

“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.”Philippians 3:20

“While we wait for the blessed hope-the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”Titus 2:13

“For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.”Matthew 16:27
