Loss of a Loved One
Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
There are not words to express my gratitude for all your prayers and support during this very difficult time for me and my family. The loss of a loved one is always difficult to assimilate leaving a void in our hearts and souls. However, when that loved one is your mother, it is even more painful. Only the person that has gone through this experience may be able to understand. For that same reason, I am so thankful to God for all of you who hold me and my family in your prayers, thoughts and support. Yes, there is sorrow and grief, but there is also faith and hope. We must always remember that for us who live in Christ, dead does not have the last word. We belong to Jesus, the way, the truth and the life. We also have to keep in mind that we are all pilgrims. Our true home is heaven. That’s where my mom is and now she will live in me in ways I could never imagined just like my dad has been with me. They are now together being embraced by the eternal love of the Father. I want to thank in a very special way to Father Walter and Fr. Jey for their fraternal and loving support and for praying the novena for my mom. To all of you at Mary Immaculate who have been unceasingly praying for my mom since she got sick and for your tremendous love, support and generosity after she went to heaven. I will always keep in my heart these warm gestures of kindness and compassion. Once again, on behalf of my family and myself we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I shall return soon to Mary Immaculate, meanwhile be assured of my prayers. I miss you all. May God bless you.
